# Georgia Film and Television Incentives
Georgia illustrates the difference between earning a credit and selling it for cash. A production must satisfy the base program and any promotional conditions before relying on the combined amount.
## Program Snapshot
The credit is 20% of qualified Georgia expenditure, with an additional 10 percentage points for qualifying Georgia Entertainment Promotion. The $500,000 annual expenditure threshold may be met by one project or eligible projects of the same production company within a tax year. The agency describes no annual program cap. Credits can offset eligible Georgia taxes or be sold or transferred to Georgia taxpayers. Claiming follows a mandatory audit. See [Georgia Film Incentives and Applications](https://georgia.org/industries/film/incentives).
## Route to Cash
Certification and audit establish the credit that can be monetized; a buyer transaction establishes sale proceeds. The headline 30% is a conditional credit calculation, not a 30% cash rebate or an assurance of full-face-value settlement.
## Analysis and Inference
Confirm application deadlines against principal photography, claimant identity, qualified expenditure, payroll evidence and promotion compliance. Obtain the audit timetable and sale terms before setting maturity. Model a base-credit-only case where the promotional uplift is uncertain. An uncapped program can still have audit, documentation and buyer-settlement delays.
